86' 350x Calipers: wrong lube or replace em'?

I am having major problems with both brake calipers on my X sticking, I have cleaned and lubed the slides but they still seem to stick, although they do seem to release after a few minuets. What kind of lube is recommended for the slides and do any other calipers cross over to these bikes.

I think the rear 400ex switches over, but you can still buy new 350x ones off of ebay or from service honda.

When I redid my rear caliper, I just used ordinary automotive lube to help get the slide back in. The caliper works great, and I haven't had any problems with it.

wether it'll gum up the pads or not, i don't know.. but i used wd-40 for mine.... sprayed em real good.. waited a day or so and then spun the tire in the air and wiped it to get all it off the caliper

Did you actually get the slider pins out and freely moving? Another possible cause might be sticking pistons, ordering new o rings for the calipers and cleaning the pistons might help.

i use coper never seize on my sliders

but like hrc200x said it sounds like the piston

Are you sure its not the master sticking in. Ive had two masters in two months do the same thing, the seals inside had swollen.

should use silicon grease on the socket bolt and the pin on the caliper bracket.

Good info...I have had problems with the rear for a while and the front just started. I guess I'll just break em' down on the bench and start again, paying attention to the pistons as well. As far as the master sticking, what do you mean?

Supposed to use silicone grease like 179 said because petroleum grease can work on any rubber it gets on.Its what Is recommended on car calipers to.
