carb swap/throttle cable qustion

ok guys i have an 83r and i wanted to change the carb on it i had a 36mm pw carb sitting around so i swaped out the old 30mm carb for it. now the problem i am having is with the throttle cable itself. i have a magura 1/4 throttle on the R and i just kept the cable that was on it but its to short and so the slide doesnt seem to close all the way. so i decided to swap out the cable and throttle that was attached to carb (originaly from my cr125) i figured that since its what was installed on the carb it would work fine. well that s not the case it is still to short and my slide wont come all the way down so needles to say it idle's very high. how can i fix this any other cable anyone can reccomend.

You sure its a pw carb? or pwk, pj? If its a pj you can use a stock 85/86 cable but you will need to run a thumb throttle I believe. If its a pwk your giong to need a special cable, motion pro sells them and you can get them for either thumb or twist but the cable won't work on both.

oh yeah lol i think it is a pj. its an oval slide carb. i thanks for the input.
