If and when I get my '84 200X back together I plan on taking it to the sand dunes pretty often. I know there's a lot of places out in the dunes to play around and get some air if I want to but I'm wondering if its gonna kill the trike to jump it or not. I don't want to wipe out shocks all the time or anything. I weigh about 185 and when I mean jump I'm not talking about more then a few feet high at the most (I'm scared of heights lol).

The 200x was built to jump. Your a good weight for it as well. Jump it as far as you can! Those 200x's are BEASTS!

The waterpumper R's are probably the best jumping trikes ever made.

The 200x bottoms out very, very easy but they can take a good amount of punishment. I beat the holy hell out of my 1985 when I was a kid. Bottoming it out HARD all the time and the frame never broke. It bent a bit but never broke.

I was bottoming mine out constantly and only weighed 140lbs at the time. I got that trike when I was 11 years old. :D

Edit: I should say, I jumped it high enough to bend down both footpegs and the rear axle (on both sides). No small feat considering my light weight back then. I'm not kidding when I say I was not kind to that trike. When you get one that's very solid mechanically and you keep up on the maintenance, they can take an amazing amount of punishment.

its obvious theirs something wrong with my 86 200x.. it hates being jumped.... weighing in at ~130, everytime i hit, it bounces... usually uncontrollably.. and i land pretty darn straight.... i'm running ~4 lbs in the rears, and 7 in the front... is that too much??? i've got 25's on the rear... or is their some kind of trick to jumping???? the front doesn't bottom out, and i seriously doubt the rear does... cause its very stiff... and its only on 1 on the bottom of the shock...

Is your shock blown? It shouldn't bounce uncontrollably. If you push the rear end down and let go, does it "pop" back up really fast or does it come up a little more smooth and slower? In other words, does it feel like it's all spring?

it does have some resistance... i've never noticed it leaking at all... when you compress it 3/4 the way down, you can say "three wheeler" and thats how long it takes to come back up.. sound good??? it might be the tires... they make the center of gravity really bad and it always seems to wanna roll over, no matter how much body english you use...

why not buy some 20" tires? The stockers were 22".
