Really sad right now.

Saturday morning, my truck got stolen.

I was hanging out with my friend at some peoples house in the next town over, he had to go to work. So I decided to stay and sober up a bit before I had to go to akron. like 45 minutes away. Well when I woke up my truck was gone and so where my keys.

I had to walk in the cold, to the police station. I almost cried my baby was gone. and I was far from home.

Well they found my truck, all I know is it wasn't wrecked and it has a big white gouge down the bed, and it's at a towing place. From what I've heard and I'm sure this is what happen, my friend's cousin took the truck..he was doing drugs, and drunk. saw his ex's car at some dude's house. and was going to kill himself. Well he went to steal gas, at a orcard. Filled it with diesel, couldn't get it too start, tried stealing a semi but couldn't drive it so he stole a van, and wrecked it in my home town, like 10 miles away.

He has no job, and lives where ever he says the night. I don't think the cops know it was him, they referred to him as "they stole the van" so The most know something. Well I don't know for sure he did it, my friend called him while I sat there and he didn't deny it but he said he didn't know and "where blood don't do this to me" and said he'd call back and never did.

To get my truck out of impound it's 160 dollars on saturday, the only time I can go. Where taking a trailer just in case the story is true and my truck has diesel in it. My friend told his friend he better come up with the money to get my truck out or I'm pressing charges, and told his grandma, where he was staying.

I don't know what to do. Right now I'm in a bad position, no insurance and I don't have a job. I can turn him in, but That won't get my truck out.

Just leave some opinions on my situation, most everyone on here is older and wiser then me. Thank you.

well the thing that sucks is your going to have to put up the $160 to get it out the longer you wait the more it will be. and you going to have to buck up to have the tank droped and drained,SAVE the recites and press charges and get the process rolling to get restitution, court processes can take a long time until he has to pay. He has to plead guilty and be sentenced before he has to pay restitution. the longer you wait the longer it will be :(

you need a sigened statement from someone WHO saw him driveing it!!!!

That sucks man,that same sort of thing happend to me back in 1990,a friends brother was drunk and leaglly blind:rolleyes: and stole my truck after we had gone to bed after a birthday party.
He went 4 wheeling down by the river and ran over a guy camped out by a fire in a sleeping bag :eek:
A couple of days later the cops were out front looking at my truck and started asking me questions,they had witnesses that discribed my friends brother and while inspecting my truck found a clump of hair/scalp in my leaf springs,I didnt have to say who it was because he came over to see what was going on???
Not a real brite guy lol.
Anyway,they took my wheel and tire as evidence which sucked because I just had got new tires a few weeks before and was broke:mad:
He ended up in jail for a couple of years,I felt bad but he took the keys off the hook sometime during the night and planned the whole thing so it was all his own stupidty.
I never did get my wheel and tire back!!!!

Well I call the police station, the officer doesn't go to work until 3rd shift so he should call tonight.

And the driving without insurance thing, well my friend drove me around, but the only times I do drive, like to go on job interviews or fill out apps or anything I try to be as safe as possible and take back ways. I know I shouldn't and if I got in a accident it suck for me, but I don't have anyone esle to take me, and until I get a job there's nothing I can do, I got bills to pay and I have to help my mom out too.

Well I did call the police station, and left a voicemail, and the officer didn't call me anytime tonight, so I'll try tomorrow, when i wake up.

how are you able to pick the truck up at impound and drive it away without insurance on it? Don't you have to turn in your plates when you don't have insurance on it?

I don't think I have to turn in my plates, but we are taking a trailer and towing it back. Diesel in the tank, I couldn't drive it anyways.

Dude, I don't know any state that lets you drive a vehicle that's not insured. Its not the person that's insured, its the vehicle so technically you're friends can't even drive the truck. You better get a job soon and get all that straightened out cause eventually something will happen and not having insurance is going to screw you over BAD

Here if you insurance lapses and you dont turn the plates in, Its $8 a day from the time of laps till there turned in or you cant regiester that truck for that many days.there trying to make it both money and wait time...

IN Ohio when you canceled your insurance or it lapsed a letter was sent to the state and now your license is suspended, Thanks for playing. You should have gotten a letter from the state about it. Sorry, but people who drive without insurance piss me off, and drive up my rates and everyone else's.
I'm sorry about your truck but glad you cant drive it now. It's alot easier to fix your truck than to get a driving while suspended. Or hit someone hurt them bad and not be able to pay for it, And leaving them in the learch.

Now that is out of the way turn him in. The people you hang out with need to learn some responsibility.
