Question about air cooled 250r

I have two offers for trade for my 85 xr350r dirtbike.

one is a tri z with the top end just rebuild. not even started...

one is for a 84 air cooled 1984 250r, hours unknown to me right now

does the 84 250r have the fatty front tire? or is it a modern one... just air cooled? you know what i mean...

im leaning towards the tri z just because its not quite as common as the 250r and its water cooled.

do you guys think its a fair trade for my xr350r?

the 84R is skinny tire just think of a 200x with an 82 R motor =]

I dont have a picture of the tri z but i just talked to him on the phone, it has one crack on the plastic that has been drilled, and its all complete and works, brakes, etc... the tri z is a 85 and is yellow and black (which i like :))

the xr350r?? about 2 months.

it had been through two floods totally submerged with the plug out...

i cleaned it up and got it running great, right now it runs awesome, no smoke, has good power. i really like it a lot...

the air cooled R is better for hte trails, and the parts arn't hard to get, my 300 air cooled shuts down my buddys 86 z easy, but I also like the z, random I know your a big dude like me and the tri z will fit you better, but the air R's fit me better than the liquids as well.

..........but certainly one would not trade you a nice Z for your XR, so what does the Z all need? I'd think for a fair trade the Z must need a lot of work & parts .

it doesnt need any work, it was blown up and he just rebuilt the top end to trade for my bike.

he said the plastic has crank thats been drilled, everything is there and works.

ive seen really nice tri z go for 1000-1300.

I almost got one of those XR's. Is that the one with bearings on the cam jernols?
I bet it gets good top end. They look fun. I would go with the waterpumper, even though I am a bigger fan of four strokes.

i think this kid's (hes probably in highschool) parents might have something to do with the trade, but in all reality i think the damn dirtbike is more dangerous than the trike

either they dont know what they have or they are scared of it...take the trike and run...especially if your only into the bike for 200. Fix er up and well hit the dunes...

the jug is in the shop getting bored out and i guess its taking them a while to do it...

Your getting the deal, not him, but from the sound of it both of you will be very happy and that's what counts.
