185s carb kit question

Hi, I was putting together the carb on my 83 185S this weekend. A large round rubber gasket comes with the kit. How do you get the gasket to stay in the float bowl, which is oddly shaped? The gasket kept popping out of the slot before I was able to get it all the way around. Thanks, Kevin

You can try and use just a little tiny bit of contact cement in 2 or 3 spots. Let the contact cement set up for a little bit before you put the gasket on.
