my friends dad is a commercial fisherman and when I go with them to fish the pound nets, we see red drum that are about that long but much thicker they are massive and have to be rolled out of the nets. they've also seen a few small mako sharks! it's definately something to see!

Wow !!! That thing is a monster,I would say 50+ inches and 40+ pounds..Out in lake St Clair on the lower east side of the state by Detroit they get some big fish out of there but those are muskies, that northern is as big as a muskie for sure ,some Michigan lakes were stocked with a muskie /pike hybrid called a tiger muskie ,but those had distinct lines on there sides and belly..Thats for sure a Northern Pike and a huge one at that..I am guessing that fish was caught somewhere in the UP ,down state the fins are a more brite red..He's a bit agressive to be eating another pike on the line ahe", I went on a trip up into Canada ,a fly in out of WA-WA Ontario, for you Canadian guys and they told us not too have any flashy jewerly or watches on if you put your hands in the water, and they get big there too but that fish is huge!! Any more info on where it was caught Furious!!!

Just by looking at the background of the lake I think this was caught in Lake St. Clair and is probably a muskie. The color seems to be a bit light for a northern.

Ya I think it might be a Muskie too. One of my cousins has a pic with a muskie about that big that he caught. The person said most people go their whole life with out catching one that big & it was his first time. He got lucky.

I agree with Raffa; I've been fishing for pike and muskie my whole life and that is definitely a pike.
