I can get passed just about any of the other problems and or missing parts with modifications and other model parts, but what do I do about a cracked rubber intake?

They are non existant new or used, all I can do is silicone it up and I'm not happy about that.

Does anyone know if any of the TRK or XR intakes would fit??

the 86/87 trx200sx bolts up but puts the carb at an odd angle and hits the frame not allowing you to bolt the carb on so no the TRX does not work

I got a new intake about 1 1/2 ago, I think they are still available and like $30.

I checked today on the decompression cable - gone. And the intake is also - gone.

Maybe this is why everyone parts the 86 and 87 200X's.

Thanks Howdy!!, I'll PM Dale - again...Last I knew he had a half dozen guys buggin him about 68/87 parts.

Are there that many less 86/87's made or are there that many that have been parted or crushed?? There isn't much out there at all, I've tried at least 6 forums...I DON"T WANT TO PART THIS ATC!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't weld aluminum but I have a very nice mig welder for steel. It shouldn't be too bad. If I made a Detroit Diesel 3-53 exhaust manifold from scratch, I think I can handle an intake.

I'd machine the ends in a lathe, making a concaved surface for an oring. Drill some clearance holes in them, mill away the excess material and mig weld the 2 ends to an angled tube inbetween.

It would be so so so much better if yamahondaman made them out of aluminum

But, we could list that guy a thousand projects but I guess we have to start one by one....

Drastic modifications would be the best answer. For starters you would have to cut and modify the frame, not to mention all the other stuff ( wiring, oil cooler, ect ) you would have to change. I think you would be better off just buying a 350x and selling / parting out the 200x.
