I have a supertrap on a 350x that i have acquired. I want to make the bike sound better. I want a more grunted/thumper sound. Do I remove the discs to do this or does that just open flow and not sound?

Right now it has about 6 or 7 discs and sounds pretty much stock to me.

Thanks in advance.

More disks = louder and more top end.

I used to run my 200x with 18 disks.

Thanks guys.

Seems wierd to me I guess. I would have thought less discs meant more noise and less restriction.

Anybody know if these discs are still available and where to get them?

I need some more disks for my 350 Supertrapp as well. Where can I get my hands on some? I only have 10.

Make sure if you go above 8 (don't quote me on the number; could be 10) disks that you get longer screws to hold the end cap on.

Paul, think of it this way- The end cap is a cap, so the more discs you add, the more the exhaust opens up. If you remove discs, it CLOSES up the flow of the exhaust, bringing the cap closer to the pipe's end. I had a hell of a time getting it straiight at first, too..........

I believe this is the same seller I got my cap and disks from. measure yours to be sure they are the same.

Chris

thats actually what i need. I just emailed the seller if they have anymore.

My end cap is just the spark arrestor piece right now. I thought i had a real old one or something with a plain cap. thanks for the link!

I remember your bike "putted" real nice at brapps. I was behind you for sometime on the ride and i commented to deepa about nice yours sounded.

yeah.. I think I have 8 disks on the end of mine. It sure was a pain rejetting that carb though.. I must of had it on and off the SX 5 or 6 times before I finally got it right.

The listing was still active when I posted it.

I have 12 discs on my SX SuperTrapp and it sounds like a beast. I'm sure 12 on the X would sound even better!!

I run 14 discs on my SX. This is with an open airbox, k&n and a 140 main jet (130 is stock) taking it down to 7 discs adds a gob of bottom end but strangles it on top.

I dont even run an endcap, unless i have to for the sparkarrestor. and when i do that i run 28 discs. If you want torque go with less dics. Peak hp more discs/open. When i ride it WOT or nothing.
