I just recently picked up a 85 200x that has had a high compression pistion and cam installed. How much will this improve the X. Also any suggestions on a spark arrested exhaust to help performance. One more question what type of tires to most of you run in the mud and sandy type of trails. It has a 3x4 conversion kit on it so I am looking for the front end and to put the kit on the 200s for my son too ride the S legally. Here in michigan you have to be 18 to ride a trike legally.

So you got that machine down by Dundee ahe' !! I was looking into that myself but let it go.. Something that I noticed on that machine was it had all that work done too it but it still had the stock exhaust.I would go with a cobra or anold white bros. exhaust for it,something as long as it is a modded one.Another thing to think about is how loud it is ,here in michigan they frown on loud exhaust on the state land.. Check the carb and see what main it has in it,mess with that,I am sure the 3x4 kit put's a little drag on the stock performance of the machine so I would go with some meaty tires for it,I saw it has the oem pro-vectors still. If you need parts to get it back to a trike I can hook you up!! I'm only 1 hour north of ya!!!

your states rules acctualy state:

"Operation of 3-Wheeled ATVs

No one under the age of 16 may operate any 3-wheeled ATV"

I had to look into that because it seamed like such a stupid rule, but there it was in michigans atv handbook!

As far as your ?.. should give you a decent performance gain, but an aftermarket exhaust and k&n filter (along with jetting) would allow those gains to be even more. for mud/sandy trials on your x, fast-trekkers or something with a holeshot type pattern would do well and keep your trike lower/more stable. If your talking deeper mud, go with anything in the "wooly bogger" (ceveron style) family.

Yeah I won the one on ebay down in dundee...and actually I want to restore it back to a trike, but I will keep the 3x4 kit for my 200s. The wife doesn't like 3 wheelers and she will ride the 200s with the kit on it. What parts for the front end do you have and how much? I am real interested in putting it back to a trike and then this summer add a exhaust to the bike. I have gotten into riding the trails last year. I even bought an acre up in wolverine, michigan so I could ride from my property to the Tomahawk trails. Let me tell you the 200s has seen some great riding on the trail system last year. I am looking forward to getting the X out on that system.

3x4? As in a 4 wheeler conversion? I would bring the trike back. I couldnt stand riding on something that was meant to be a trike and could break at any second

i agree that the conversions are dumb but they do hold up if done right.

there was a guy that raced a 85-86 atc 250r in the A class mx and it seemed strong

this is the original 3x4 conversion kit that came out originally.
