How many would appreciate something like this?
Recently I just posted two of them and think SEEING a procedure, along with telling it, is so much more helpful.
Maybe even go as far to list them under the model type?
I know you could do a search but think it would be more efficient just to have it's own forum.

I think that is a pretty good idea. Separating them by model type is a good idea too.
People could also list little performance mods and how to do them, too.

I think this is an awesome idea! I for one will soon be rebuilding the rear end on the 85 SX, I will try to get pics as I go...If the wife will allow my greasy hands on her camera:lol:
One suggestion, post a sticky in that new section on how to put the pics up so they will always be here. I use photobucket and cant gaurantee they will be there 6 months from now. I dont know how to post em otherwise.
They already have something like that over at .ORG.

Well.... I do think it is a good idea, however - 75% of our members still refuse to buy a manual, and probably never will if this opens up - then we'll be holding their hands forever. Apparantly they don't even want to download the free ones "DAMMIT" has offered.
I think a pictorial is great, but it will still leave out all the little notes that a factory manual has within it.
I truly feel that the factory manual tells us everything, whether people want to buy it or not is there problem. Sometimes more infomation or shortcuts can be added to the OEM material and that could be useful.
I do think a forum with a step by step tutorial to new parts conversions would be nice as that information isn't anywhere else.
Mounted a CR80 caliper on your ATC? Welded 200X stops on a 250SX?? Jetted a 350X for a 250SX?? Built a midpipe to join a 450R silencer to a 350X?? Stuffed a Banshee motor in your ATC70?? THATS! what I'd like to see....

I second that. I'd rather just search previous posts in trikesylvania or make a thread if i cant find what i need.

I honestly think lots of us do a better job at explaining some procedures then the manuals. So often you see them working on a particular part with nothing in the way. Take valves for instance, they have the motor out of the machine and make it look so easy, it's not in a lot of cases and can be a real pain.
That's just one example of many and I'd personally rather see the TRUE procedures on here.
My changing fork oil procedure shows much clearer pictures then any manual and that is what I'd like to see more of.
The Red Kote tank liner one I made, I tell you far more of what to look out for then Red Kote because they are just telling you in general what to do and not referring to any particular ATC tanks.
Sometimes the manuals talk to you like your a true mechanic and I don't know what they are talking about, on here I do not think we would run into such a problem if the procedures are wrote taking in consideration that a total beginner might be reading it.
Would that be so hard to do, to give it a go for a month or two or three?
What could be done is once all questions are askd (that will happen of course) on the procedure and it is fine tuned so there is no glitches in the procedure, all the questions could be deleted so it is strickly the procedure so we are not reading in between ?'s on some of the steps?
Hey, work with me here, I'm not perfect, any other ideas or am I thinking pretty clear so far?

If you want to have a separate thing for the "How To" I'd like to see it separated out into forums for each machine and most could probably be lumped together, so that way your not looking through pages for "185s tranny rebuild" and all you see is 250r stuff. And maybe a forum for "general" where your fork rebuild would be put in. But i dont think its REALLY neccessary

Yea I agree, I think I said that already.
Yes, it's not like we really need it but I think it would be a nice "luxury" to have.
I'd love to see, for instance, the procedure reguarding the machines to change tires instead of just reading how they work.

I know it would probably help me a lot. I have a manual for every bike I have but so many of you guys here know so many different tricks that save time and make things easier.
