350x restore w/pics this time lol

hey ya'll just wanted to show off my frame off 350x restore. put a 10.25:1 piston, All Balls steering stem bearing kit and swing arm bearing kit, durablue 2.5 inch rear axle spacers. the tank is just on there for pics its actually bare metal right now waiting for paint. also didnt paint the kick starter cuz thats getting replaced too. the supertrapp looks a million times better in person then the pics. looking for a working speedo head if anyone has one let me know thanks.

Very nice, its looks great in the pictures. Did you powder coat the frame or strip/paint it. I'm leaning towards powder coating mine, but its a little bit more money. I hope it looks half as nice as yours when i'm done, TC...

i had it media blasted. then my automotive painter buddy epoxyprimed it. then base coat clear coat automotive paint.

yes it is very nice to complete a project... took my about a month... did most of the work at work when there was nothing to do....

Very nice , i'm trying to collect all of the parts for my assembly so i can remember exactly how it goes back together. Are the rear hub spacers good for all around riding? I was looking into a wider axle and didn't realize that the spacers were available. Is there any real advantage or disadvantage to one vs the other? I hope thats not a dumb question i'm new to all of this...

the real main advantage is price... durablue axles go for about 400.00 or so spacers are anywhere between 80.00 and 120.00. there's two different types of spacers. one you have to knock out you lug studs and use bolts the other uses lug extenders. i prefer the lug extending type

I'll look into that as far a regular riding i guess the spacers wouldn't put too much stress on the end of the axles? I can see how you'd feel better with the longer studs, having 8 studs on each one and only being threading in about an inch or so seems like trouble to me, assuming i understand the setup. Does the one that uses the longer studs have treads in the extension or is it more like a machined chuck of alum with holes drilled in it? If its like that i may just be able to have the made as my work. Thanks again, TC...

I'd much rather have an extended axle than a spacer... More money but if your gonna keep the ATC, why not build it the way you want it. Just do a little at a time!!

Thats an idea, plus i work at a machine shop so if i can find longer studs, or just make it set up with bolts and lock nuts i may be able to get some aluminum machined to work for next to nothing. We may even have something lying around. Then i can worry about the axle later...
