I have a 1983 ATC 185s, stock except for a UNI filter. I was having problems with it running hot. When I pulled the plug to look at it, it looked like it was running too lean. I raised the needle, no change. Installed bigger main jets (was a 96 i belive, I went all the way up to a 105) and the plug still looks the same. Anyone had any similar problems? Or any suggestions on what to try? thanks in advance.

How about your air/idle screw mix? I think its supposed to be 1 1/4 turns out.

fuel line and carb are good, i hadent looked at the petcock, so i disconnected the line from the carb and turned to fuel on and it seemed to be flowing good outof the tank so i don't think thats the problem.

I have the air screw set 2 turns out from closed, thats the stock setting i belive. Is more turns out = more fuel right? maybe i should take it out some more?

buddy had a similar problem come to find out the gas cap wasn't venting. And was causeing it to lean out.
