83-84 kx ignition system is a completely different system. Only the secondary coil, (or the one the plug wire comes off of) is interchangable. T3 stators use a lighting coil in stator kx does not. Plugs for the kx stator to cdi are straight where tecate are triangle. Dont bother using stock t3 headlight and kill switch pod, use kawasaki kx series kill button. Wire as you would any mx bike. Very simple and much cleaner in appearance. Don't need a diagram since it only goes one way. Just a few plug ins where it all comes together under the tank. Set base timing straight up on mark and you're done.

To me, the headlight setup on the first gen t3's was an afterthought at best. The thought of smashing all my teeth out on a light that stood higher than the bars was just rediculous. I have no plans to ride my t3 at night, so i never even considered using a light on it. Obviously this negates the use of a tailight as well and again it just cleans up the bike. This really is a simple thing to do. All you need in the coil, leads coming off of stator, cdi, and kx kill button. Fewer things to fail or cause problems. Not to mention all of the ugly wiring eliminated.
