Anyone know??? I've been searching for days for any kind of specs for this machine... And nothing. I know its a pretty light rig though. I'm guessing in the high 200's.

sounds about right

back in the 90s my buddy's all weighed our bikes and the q-sport was lighter then i thought

the factory gives dry weight and we weighed them just as they were with nerf bars and full race setup

i know my 89 q-racer was right around 320 and the sport was lighter

That must be top-secret info... I've been searching for days on the net. Guess I'll just have to carry my bathroom scale out and weigh both ends and add them up, lol.

that wont work...you will need a big old grain scale or something

or put a milk crate on the scale and get the bike on the scale that way

a jack on the front and one on the back,,, both sitting on scales won't work??? Why not???

It reminds me of a guy that used to get by highway scales when he was hauling tankers with too much weight. He'd hit the gas really hard and all the liquid would run to the back as the front of the truck went across the scales. Then, after the front wheels cleared he'd hit the brakes and the liquid would run to the front as the back wheels hit the scales. That's what he said anyway,,, I guess it would work.

if you do it that way and add them together it will be a higher number

try it and then try it with 1 and see....we tried this years ago and it didnt work

I just tried it.... The front weighed in at 120 and the back was 140. The jack was a couple lbs. The tank and all the plastic as well as the head, piston, carb, and jug is off the bike. Figure all that might weigh about 20lbs. So, if 280 is on the heavy side I guess I'm happy with that. :)

There is no way I can balance it on one scale in the center and even less of a chance I could hang it from a pull scale of sorts. So, I have no idea how far off I am.

hmmm...that sounds about right...i dont get it

what we did was put a scale under each tire to dial in our swaybar for flat track racing and if we added up all 4 scales it was high

Did you use 4 scales or just move the one around all 4 wheels? If you used one scale then I can see that being off because when you lift one wheel you actually lift a slight bit of the other 2 adjacent wheels. But I think you could get away with it on a trike because you can pick any one wheel up and not lift any adjacent one.

With a quad you'd have to lift 2 wheels at a time so the remaining wheels will pivot. From what I recall of my statics class, it should work as long as there is no part of the quad hanging over the scale.

I might get curious and go measure all 4 wheels n see... Keep ya posted.
