I may try the 350x carb on my 250sx. I know that some here have done this and I need info on it. Does the 250sx throttle cable work on the 350x carb? Will the 350x carb fit in the intake boots on the 250sx? I know that the jets need to be changed. What are the pros and con of this swap? :wondering

Both boots and the cable fit perfect.
People also sell 350X carbs for about 30$ versus the EBAY SX carb that can run about 80$.
The advantage is a larger inside bore, larger throttle valve or slide and the main jet is accessable from underneath the fuel bowl without removing the fuel bowl. If it's an 85 350X carb, it starts better than the 85 SX carb and if it's an 86 350X carb it is a great cold weather starting carb for the SX.
It is best to remove the airbox lid and put a performance exhaust on there to work with the 350X carb.
It does add quite a bit of go go.

Thanks Dirtcrasher. That is the info I was looking for. Would the Cobra exaust work well with this or something else? Sandpuppi101 has a carb and I'll talk to him tonight about getting it. Just how much GO GO does this really add?

It adds alot more torque than the SX carb for sure. I found that I could pull wheelies in 3rd and if I really tried 4th gear versus barely getting the wheel up in 3rd with the SX carb. You wont regret it. A little tight going in the first time and then after that it seems to go in and out like butter, the cobra will work fine. If you would like to keep your airbox lid on I would reccomend a k&N air filter.
Only con i have seen is the choke lever on the 350x carb hits the boot that goes from the frame to airbox for air. No big deal though, it still stays on choke.

I think just about any of the open exhausts (DG,Cobra etc) would give you the same results. I don't believe that Cobra offers the alloy series for the SX but I could be wrong. I put the alloy series on my 200X and it was a nice system.
Lots of people swear by the Bassani and the Supertrapp for the SX, but the Bassani isn't made anymore.
I don't know what the actual HP increase is. The SX is limited by the differential, eben if more power is added the top end speed doesn't change. It just gets there quicker.
Those mods on an SX make it quite a bit quicker than stock. The 200X front end conversion allows for much better handling, a loss of weight and a great stopping disc brake.
My 85 SX has a built motor and it flat out hauls for a sport utility.
