Hi Guys,
I bought a 1984 200s last May. Only paid 300.00 Candain for it! It is a great little ride. All Summer, through the Fall and winter me and my buddy who has an 1983 200m have had a blast. The only thing that I did do to it was change the oil and clean the oil filter screen. Great deal lots of fun!!!! Until yesterday! I have recently noticed that it was getting harder to shift. I thought I should probably adjust the clutch in it. So I read the manual went to the site and followed the procedure people listed on this site. Loosen the locknut back it out. Spin the slot head out counter clockwise until I felt a little resistance and then turn it clockwise 1/4 turn back in. Now it:
1. Shifts hard
2.Sometimes doesn't go into gear
3.Pops out of gear
4.When I press down on the shifter leaver all the way to try and do a wheelie it
won't go down.
5.Won't get out of gear selected sometimes.
I know I have adjusted this thing properly. Any ideas of what is going on would be appreciated
THanks

First off, welcome to the site! We hope you enjoy it.

Sounds like a broken shifter gripper thingy on the inside of the motor. Not to hard of a fix either. Just need to remove the right side cover ( clutch cover ), remove the clutches, then remove the shifter shaft. Replace the broken part and re-install everything. For me it's a 30-45 minute repair, but then I have done 10-15 of them before.
