Hi guys,
My Tecate came with a 38mm Mikuni flat slide and a K&N filter(no air box). Now I'm thinking of getting a stock airbox, my question is the intake side of my carb the same as a stock one? will the airbox work with it, or will the boot be too small?
Thanks in advance for any help :)
P.s. I'm also in need of front axle spacers for an '85 T3, let me know if you have any for sale.

It should work... I ran a 40mm Mikuni on mine for awhile...It was a round slide though...

Thanks Cr,
I figured it should BUT, you never know...
Also, do you guys think having an airbox is a big deal? I just noticed that the K&N is exposed to alot more sand, I ended up puttin an outerwears on it and seemed to help a bit.
Will the stock airbox restrict the airflow noticably compared to what I have now?
Thanks again!:beer

Everyone needs to get over the K&N hype that they will produce more power. It's simply not true. However they will allow your engine to ingest more dirt and fine dust, so power and engine longevity will be greatly reduced. And the whole idea of installing a outerware on the K&N is simply trying to cover up the problem that exists with them. FORGET IT! If you don't like the B.S. oem airbox setup on your first gen t3 don't use it and get a uni pod filter. 2 stage foam is simply the best way to keep dirt out of your engine. And you can buy many different sizes of inlets to fit your bigger carb bell. Anything bigger than a 34 and stretching the boot is a compromise. If you buy your carb from ESR have the reducer ring installed. My 38 AS fits like an oem fitment. Well worth it.

Hey dude....I don't know how to help, but did you ever end up getting a new frame? We need to hook up for an In San Diego ride somewhere. I might just end up buying a tecate this week haha.
I agree on the K&N argument. The uni flows just as well and keeps the engine in good shape.

Thanks guys for the opinions :)
I'm gonna try and get an airbox now, and do it right, hehe.
Which Uni filter you say you like?
Fire, I didnt end up getting a frame but instead cut my quad conversion off! Was alot of work but I think it came out good...
Heres a couple picks before I really started getting intricate on cutting off the welds and gusseting.:D
I just got all my front end parts in the mail and started to set it up, I'll post more pics later.

Awsome! Get the airbox and a UNI filter to go in it. More pics of the rebuild man, c'mon!
