I need to buy a new front tire for my R, cause I studded the old one and I AM NOT ripping all those things out!!!
Looking around on Denniskirk.com all I found was the stock Dunlops for up front on a 250r. What other tires do you guys run?? I mostly ride RR beds at high speeds with some rougher trails...... I'll be running HF-245's in the rear though because I want to be able to slide around;)
So what 23x8-11 tires do you guys run and/or recomend???:beer
Thanks! -Devin

I use the stock dunlap, sometimes I will use a front max, but thats mostly reserved for when there is mud or on trails.

I run the Kenda Front Max on my 84 R and the front of the wifes SX. In deep slippery mud, it will still make the trike turn where the knobby that I used to run would just slide and plow a row. Major difference between the 2!

Have the kenda front max on my R and my 350X, and have used them on many others. It is a great tire and for the price, you can't beat'em.

I was just at a Dealer Auction and picked up a Gator 22x7x11 ( I think that's ther size ). The tire looks NICE, but I haven't mounted it yet.

P.S. Here's a picture of one:

You're using a mud tire as a front?!

It gives a lot better stopping ability. ;) I paid $15 for the tire and it will look good on our machine. ;)

Ohhh I see. I guess if you wanna stop on sand, you put a paddle tire backwards on the front LOL

I run stock front tires in the summer. For the $20 difference, and the fact that you will change a front tire every 20 years or so, stick with stock.
Some guys like the Kenda, and no offense to them, but I think it's ugly.
If I were you, I would buy another front rim off of ebay and keep a summer set and an ice set. It makes it easy and for the $ 20 for the rim, you will pay that every year to have someone do it for you.

Mud / Dirt with hills is a whole lot different than sand and hills. I ride on more dirt and mud terrain, so I use what I know works best for me.

I can get a actual weight of the tire tomorrow. But I don't think it's over 4-5 lbs.

Well I was wrong here. I didn't think the tire weighed much, but after putting it on the shipping scale I found out I was wrong. It weighs just a tad over 16 lbs. But that will be fine for me as it will help keep the front tire down during some hard take offs. lol
