If something goes wrong with the bearing on top of the left case where the clutch "rod" goes are you basically screwed? Is there any way to remove this bearing? I think im the only person in the history of the trx250r and atc250r's to have a problem with this.

Heat up around it carefully, it should fall out

Follow what jeff said, slightly heat her up then get a custum 90 degree pic down in the hole and work it out.

    about 5 minutes non stop with a mapgas torch and it still didnt budge. I ended up screwing the race up and the aluminum where the bearing slides in and out so i'm probablly screwed. i am one of the guys that shouldnt be aloud tools or even in a garage for that matter:D

stick case-half in oven @ 200~250 degrees, for about 20-30 min.
using a wood block and pot holders, slap the case down in the direction you want bearing to go.
my own experience, you can get ALL bearings out the case this way.
just a thought, although i never pulled out clutch arm bearing this way.

any ideas of small tools that will cut through bearing race? I'm through it in one spot from geting it hot and wacking it with a punch a couple times. In the process i marred the aluminum up BAD so im looking for a tool this time. I figure if i can cut it straight across from where its broke/cut at then it should fall out. I tried about 4 different dremel bits and it just ate all of them.

Dammit!

I don't usually advocate it but, sometimes it's better to take a tricky part to a shop and let them do it. At least that way if they break it, it's on them and not you.
