ATC 110 cam chain tightening

I went to adjust the tension on my 110 today and ended up making it worse. I took the 14mm head plug out of the bottom to clean it, put it back together and made it worse than it is, what is the proper way to tighten the cam chain on these little critters?:confused:

on the right side of the engine down by the foot peg. there i a 10mm nut with a stud come out of it for a srewdriver. i cant remeber if u are suoppes to have the engine running or not. but anyway just loosen the nut and then turn loosen the stud with a srewdriver when u do that it should let the rod inside the engine slide up and tight the chain. one u doin that just tight the stud uo and then the 10mm nut.
