today, after cleanin the jets, and the carb, and the gas tank and fuel line, i almost got my bike runing, bt it still wont fuly start. what happened was, i pulled the choke up, gave it about 25% throttle and started it, it cranked, faster and faster, whle sparking and burning gas. so i let go of the starter, and someohow my bike kept turning over, for a little more than a minute it burned gas, but it was almost unresponsive to throttle and when i kicked it into first nothing hapened which means that it didnt start. any idea wats wrong

also someone said they would give me a 22mm carb from an atc200s, will that fit my 84 bigred and wat performance improvments could i see if it did

It sound to me like 1 of 2 things.

1. Its still a fuel delivery problem (carb not set correctly, floats not set, needle not set/dirty air breather.

2. Possibly a timing problem, check to make sure its set correctly and check that you have a good healthy blue spark from the plug (mabe you have a bad coil.

Thats just what it sounds like to me tho, its really hard to trouble shoot problems online I think without actually seeing the machine.
