It's about time for a plastic tank on my Big Red. I just got through rebuilding the carb, and found alot of junk in filters and the carb.
On ebay the 2 brands are Wide Open and Clarke. Are they both the same tank, which is best? Are the shapes the same as stock looking?
Thanks,
Travis

Have you thougt about coating the inside of your current tank? Red Coat is fairly easy to use for doing this. And it's cheaper than a new tank. ;)

Yeah, I've thought about it. The tank has a dent and needs painted too, then probably a new petcock and filter while I'm at it, and that adds up to probably what a new plastic one would cost. I hate to not have the metal one on it, but I'm leaning toward plastic. I'll check into the Red Coat.

I have one on my red (check avatar). I dont know what brand but i got it off ebay. It works ok, its a little bit of a pain to mount (have to push). But it stays on nicely and fits good in my opinion. I still have my metal one and if i ever get around to it, im gonna redo it and put it back on.

the clarke are the best a little tight though. slap a set of tank decals and u could fool the naked eye. I just put one on my buddys last night. http://www.filehigh.com/files/gab/thumbs/1154_388331_tl.gif (http://www.filehigh.com/viewimg.php?f=4375&i=388331)
