Finally got the topend back today from the machine shop. At 45 bucks for a valve job and boring it out I could't complain too much about the wait. Got the engine back together this afternoon and it started on the 2nd kick. Basically its a stock rebuild only .040 over and mild port work with the stock head pipe and hallowed out stock muffler. Its very torquey. It'll set the back end down and wheely with a blip of the throttle in first and nearly do it in 2nd. I may gear it a little higher but not sure just yet. Gonna readjust the valves and cam chain tomorrow and advance the timing a hair and try it. I'm pretty impressed with how it runs. I wouldn't say its faster then a 200S but its got way more torque and the fun to ride factor is a lot higher.

I'll get some pics today but they will be camera phone quality. One thing I did notice is the frame is twisted from the engine back. The seat and fenders sit a little low on the left side because of it. Not sure if that can be twisted back tinto shape or not.

Here's a few pics. Its hard to see but the big dent is in the left side of the tank. Looks like someone introduced their knee to the gas tank. The seat is original and there is only one very small tear in the middle. Fenders are also original and weathered but not broken. I would love to put the 86-87 style rear fenders on it and then a 250R front fender on it sometime, both fenders being white of course. Like I said already, its very torquey. I think one or two teeth smaller on the back would be nice but I'll probably just leave it. The stock exhaust actually sounds really nice but the head pipe is really small and I port matched the exhaust to the brass crush ring for the head pipe so a bigger head pipe will probably make a difference. Anyway for 150 for the trike and 150-180 in the engine its not bad at all.

Whats wrong with stock tires? My dad has 200X stock tires and wheels on his 250SX and I have them on my 125 too. I like them....

im not saying anything is wrong with the stock tiers my 1983 200 had them im just saying that probably means the bike has low hours on it or the previous owner liked the stock tiers and replaced them when they got worn down with the same stock tiers
