yamaha trike help

ok my father got a free yamaha trike from the side of the road. well it didnt run worth a crap so i opened the carb and cleaned it real good and now she runs great. but here is the problems. we put the rear end up in the air and it will shift fine but as soon as i try to ride it but the stupid thing makes a skipping noise from where the shaft comes out of the engine. how can i tell what kinda trike this is ? i do know it is a 225 of some sort. but other than that i dont know the model or year.


i will try to get pictures later to day when my brother brings the sd card back.

if ya post a couple pictures of it up here someone will probably be able to tell you what it is.
Also, is the id plate still on the front forks? probably under the headlight assembly
on my yamaha 225dx that is where the id plate is

well sorry guys no picst yet. it all apart lol. but i did find out what the problem is. the problem is there is a part i think is called a driven cam (part number is 24w-17527-01-00) that has cracked in half. there is also a couple other small stuff too like a snap ring on a bearing broke. i also found out what it is. its a 84 ytm225dxl tri moto.

so when i get payed i will be fixing it, put it together and take some pictures of it.

Hey, I think Ive got a drive cam that I just pulled out of a machine, I took out the whole assy. the other day.

And are you talking about the bearing on the end's snap ring? It is supposed to only be a 1/2 ring. I might have one of those also.

p.s. I still gotta test it, but if its good then I got you that soleniod for the moto4 you were wanting. About time! :lol:

you have the cam thing for the 84 225dxl ??? and the ring too ? how much would you want shipped ? my brother for a solenoid for the moto 4 . sorry
