I read many posts on here about people trying to get their trike to Idel, I have yet to succeed.
Here is where Iam at - I just purchased an 84 Honda 200s (Wouldnt idel when I got and still wont after I worked on it)
Put all new seals within the Carb
Bathed the Carb
Cleaned the Jets
Made sure there where no leaks between air intake and carb
No leaks coming out of the Carb
Spark Plug is kinda Black (which I suspect mean the fuel is rich) (I put in new plug)
I just ordered new air filter (should be coming in)
Idels good when choke is out about a quater or slight throttle.
I adjusted the throttle needle assembly on every slot (still wont idel) - currently 2nd from the top.
Also a side note,
I have not replaced fuel
I bought an inline fuel filter but have not installed
Can sombody please help me get this thing to idel, runs fine otherwise.
Thanks all!

Relplaceing the fuel would be my first step.

if it idles with the choke out some then to me it sounds like the throttle plate screw (or stop screw) is mis-adjsuted and it's not holding the idle high enough. try adjsuting that and it shoudl bring the RPM up enough to idle.
if I rememebr correctly the choke does 2 things. 1 cuts some of the air off for a richer mixture, and 2 gives cracks open the throttle plate some to let more flow in.

Thanks, I will try replacing the fuel and open the throttle plate a little more. It does seem to make sense that the throttle plate may be cutting off the fuel throw creating a richer mixture. Is the throttle plate screw the one with the little spring in it?

On the carb, the throttle (idel screw is on the side). I messed with this a little and got no results. The pilot screw is underneath, does this screw set the throtle plate to open more?

The screw with the spring on it is what you are looking for. The one on the bottom of the carb (by the float bowl) is an air mixture screw, I would mess with that LAST.
When you are adjusting the idle screw (the one on the side with a spring on it) make sure you are opening the throttle with the cable (your thumb) when you screw it in, that will take the pressure off of it (the screw generally doesn't have the ability to raise the slide all by its self, it just prevents the slide from falling back closed all the way when you let off the throttle).

Alright here was the solution: I took it to my home Honda Dealer. I asked him what the problem was because I wasnt getting anywhere. What he told me he did. (I believe this was the main problem), He said my valves were out of adjustment and he adjusted those. He also adjusted my chain and set my needle which I imagine he mean probably the throttle needle. It is idoling and Im going to pick it up soon. There are a couple forums with people with the same exact problem, so I guess the answer would be to check your valves to see if they are out of adjustment. GRD

I was gonna suggest the valves as well.
But......I had a small air leak where the float bowl butts up against the bottom of the carb. I had put a new seal in there and I guess there was a pinch in it, and there was a small amount of air leaking. Kinda random, and i did not think that it would have had the impact it did. nevertheless, it idled fine after a new seal and careful installation of the float bowl.
Glad you got it sorted out.
