I justr bought this 85 tri Z transmission off ebay. got a good deal... $40 for the entire thing with a kick starter gear..

The one fork is obviously toast. but what about the others?

Would that worn one have cause damage to any other part of the transmission? The rest appears to be 100%...

Do 86 tri Z shift forks interchange with the 85's?

Thanks!!

85 and 86 forks are different. Popping out of gear causes that. Better check your dogs carefully for beat down edges.

you wanna check the other two by putting them in the groove that they go in and see if they bind up..also put the pins in the shift drum and check for play and sticking, they tend to get flat spots on the sides of the pins. They look normal..pull that pin out of that bad shift fork for and save it and throw the fork out
