Is this the right way to put it on? Or is this the wrong way? One side is flat, and the other has these cut outs in the wheel. The side facing the camera is the side without the brake parts and such.

looks wrong to me. these stock rims have steel inserts in the rim for the lug nuts to tighten down in.
and you put the rim on with them sticking out where you can see them, there a female taper and teh lug nuts have a male taper.

They have those steel inserts on the other side? I just put those washers on there but I guess its wrong? On the other side of the rim, should there be washers?

Here is a pic of the rim......you would want the shoulders on the inserts to face the lug nuts.

Here is a pic of the caliper mounting. Keep in mind that I am using a CR caliper, so yours is gonna be a hair different, though the bracket will mout the same.

right i tried to mount it by routing the caliper on the outside(the line and all) and that wasn't working at all. So how does that CR caliper work? Good upgrade?

To be honest, I have not yet had the chance to find out.
I'm hoping to get my R done by late fall.
I'm sure it's gonna be somewhat of an improvement over stock.
The one nice thing is that I now have the same caliper front and rear.
Using it on the front involves a little trickery.
The CR bracket has the provision to hold the pads in, and is not used on the front, only the rear. I used tha ATC bracket on the front. I had to make up some tabs to bolt onto the ATC front bracket to hold the pads, and clearance it a little. Another thing I had to do was reduce the diameter on the bracket for the different pin.
That involved boring the bracket to accept a bushing.
If you need pics, I can get them for you.
The pic I have posted here is when I was test fitting them.

could you post up some of the rear? Sort of interested in how the rear is set up.

Here are a few pics
This one shows the holes that have to be oblonged a little bit for the bolts to line up.
This bracket is the same as stock except alumnium.

this one shows the stock late 90's caliper and bracket from CR 250

This one shows the brackets I made to hold the pads in place.
These were the first ones I made, and became the prototype to the final ones.

Is this the right way to put it on? Or is this the wrong way?The rim mounts with the valve stem facing to the right side. That way you can have access to the valve stem, to air up the tire, without all the brake hardware getting in the way.
