im prolly going to sound stupid, but is their such thing as an '88 honda 3wheeler? my friend has an "'88" and i thought they were outlawed in '87??? (no front shocks or rear, about 200cc)

yes the 88's do exsist. few and far in between, but they do exsist.

look at the id tag on the neck...should state the year and model on it. if no tag, run the serial numbers on the frame.

well, i dont think its a big red... but i could be wrong. he drove 2 hours to La. to get it, but it runs like new.

yes, they exist, there was one on ebay (outside of the US) a couple weeks ago. if he will sell it try to buy it off him, there very rare. are you sure it has no suspension?

yes, abolutely positive. he brought it to the school today and said it was an '88, and we argued about it... lol

the 10 letter in the vin number will be a J if its a 88

the only ATC to be made in 88 was the big red and it was only sold in Europe and Austraila and in OZ it was called 'super red'

3 wheelers were not "outlawed" or "ban" the ATV manufactures entered into a agreement they would not make them or sell them inside the USA for 10 years, that 10 years has passed, legally they could start selling them again in the USA today, it will never happen tho...

If it is around 200cc, has the exhaust in the middle below the seat, and has no suspension it could be an atc185 or 200. your friend is going to be pissed to learn it is an early 1980's model as opposed to a 1988 though. there are no 1988's here
