well i am gonna be slapping my vforce 3 reed cage on the t3, i also got a spacer as well. my question is, a. if i use the spacer should i put the spacer in front of the reedcage before i put the reed cage on, in between the cage and intake port, or b. do i out it on the cage after the reed cage and before the intake boot? or do i use the spacer at all? let me know your thoughts guys. i know i dont have to use the spacer if i dont wanna, but what performance gains will i experience with it?

You may gain a fraction of a HP. Its more of a tool for smoothing the hit in the powerband. Put the spacer on first then the reed cage in it. You may have to hog out the spacer a little to fit the cage in it.

I've never seen (yet) concrete proof that the spacer runs better one way or another. Try it both and let us know the results.

the spacer is like biggreen said, a tool used to smooth out the hit of your pipe, unless you are getting into real deal race motors, then it is used to change pressure modulation in the crankcase and create more crankcase volume.

haahahaaa i road my t3 more then twice and nothing has broke i just fixed what was damaged already and yeah that spacer is for the hit in the pipe you dont need it because you are not racing it to use it anyway, so there''get it running first before you worry about spacers and crap.

I've used a spacer on an '86 Tri-Z I bought new and waited 3-4 years before bolting on a DG pipe/reeds/K&N. DG advertised their's as helping bottom end, but I can't say that it did or didn't. Any actual gain was very small if it was there at all. I know that the powerband hit was pretty smooth on that particular machine, but then the Z's was pretty smooth anyway. I actually like a violent on-off style hit myself for the way I ride, but for some kinds of riding smooth is better(of course at this point I'd be happy with just hearing mine idle:).
I guess I would suggest trying it both ways(with and without). I haven't planned to get one for mine, but if you report noticeble positive results from using one, that may change.

A bonus of it is when you use a flatslide carb the spacer makes up the space of the thiner carb.
