You really should buy a manual.

Top ring 0.2mm
Bottom ring 0.4mm

Bottom ring 0.4mm

The top gap is tighter than the second?
I always use .004 per inch of bore size on most applications that arent supercharged or nitrous... usually .012+ on my 250's...

I have my manual for a 84 handy so hopefully these shots will be legible for you.

I read the manual as specifying the same gap for both rings... with a range of 0.2-.0.4mm or .008-.016" ... .008" is awfully tight for a forged piston....I would go for a .012"(.3mm) minimum gap on a wiseco...

It's what the makers say so ,,, maybe thats what makes a rebuild tight perhaps.

I agree, but the manual is written for use with a stock piston(cast)... forged pistons(wiseco) almost always require a larger ring gap...

i went with a minium of 12+ on both rings.have yu ever bought wiseco pistions and have them be right on the ring gap and not need to file.mine were that way no filing needed.i have the hole top end together i torqed the head bolts to 18ft and cylinder base to 25ft how does that sound

They are usually good to go... But I always check just to be safe... Especially on a fresh bore when it could be a bit tight depending on tolerances... There is a possibility or getting the wrong parts too... never hurts to be safe...
