I use this site for their exploded parts diagrams, you should be able to see how it goes together http://216.37.204.206/wps/Honda_OEM/HondaATV.asp?Type=13&A=12&B=31 hope this helps.

well I always use marine grease when re-doing my swing arm bearings, it dis-places water a little bit better than standard grease.

First you wanna make sure your bearing housing is clean and has no dirt, dust, or grim of any kind left behind. Once you know it's clean take a small dab of grease and coat the inside of the housing, this will help the bearing go in. Get one of the bearings and look it over before you install it to make sure there is nothing wrong with it ie. burrs, chips, missing parts. If there is nothing wrong with the bearing you can install it, start by pushing it in by hand as far as you can but make sure it stays alligned or it will possibly jam and get stuck. Once it's in far enough that you cant push it anymore get a wooden dowel that's either the same size as the bearing or slightly smaller, with the dowel end set on the bearing use a hammer to finish tapping it in. If it is a split housing like the 250R's, Tecates, and Tri-Z's, just get it close to center as you can as when the ends are installed the bearing will center up. If it is a solid housing like the 200X and 350X, there is a bearing race in the swing arm that the bearing should be installed against.

Now once the bearing is installed you will need to pack it with grease. Take a glob of grease and pack it into the bearing by pushing the grease into the bearing and rotating the bearing at the same time. Once that is done your metal ends should go on. For split swing arms this is where bearing allignment accures, if you have a set of soft jaws for your vice install them and simply tighten the vice until the ends are seated or your can set the inside end on a table top and tap the outside end with a deadblow mallet until the ends are seated completely. For the X style housing the end should simply push on with your fingers.

The collar should be installed next with grease applied to both the inside and outside. Once it's installed the dust seals should be packed with grease as well and then installed over the metal ends and collar(s).

Now re-installing the swing arm might be a bit of a pain cuz the seals are more than likely not gonna wanna stay on. So it might help to have a buddy come over and simply hold the seals on while you tap the swing arm into place. When the holes are close you should be able to allign it with the bolt. Install the nut and torque it to spec and your done.
