At least i know and didn't waste the money, just out of curiosity can i make my x shock work with R adjustments/stops, or can i get an R rear shock assembly on my X??? Thanks for any input in advance. I work at a cnc machine shop so if its a simple fab and go deal i'm in but i dont want to cut the frame or swinger, i'm willing to hack up the shocks mounts and pivots if i can make it work either way...

nope,,, 350x shock bolts directly to the swingarm no links,,, 250r is pro link with linkage,,, completely different spring rates,, completely different dampening rates too,,,,,,, what are you trying to do,, get a lighter or stronger spring?

I'm looking for a little stronger of a spring, i weigh like 210+ and have an 86 X with stock suspension i was thinking i could update it to something that the aftermarket caters to. I dont want to buy a NOS 1985/86 shock assy, that seems like a waste to me.
Is anyone running a later style, or a modified R shock on a 350x? Just looking for some ideas. Also if so do you have the swingarm stock or cut up? Thanks, TC...

Oldsking, its the opposite of that. I'm trying to find something to replace a worn X shock and i was wondering if i could simply use an R coil to make it a little stiffer. I know eibach makes the coils for trx-250R and i was asuming in 86 the atc and trx R shocks were nearly the same...

Ahh, yea see im trying to place a 350x spring on a 250r shock.. ok like said before, the shocks themselves are a different set up so an R shock will not bolt up to your 350x. I'm not positive but that I was aware of they will not work. As for replacing a spring for a stiffer one it looks to be that you can put an R spring on the 350x shock, but I thought the 350x had a stiffer one to begin with. If all else fails your best bet is to have it sent to Works and they can do it all for like a hundred bucks and have it set up perfect for you

I'll have to do some homework on that company and see what the deal is, my stock shock in a little soggy and i was just thinking that i may be better off to upgrade the whole deal. I'll see what i can some up with. I'm not on an unlimited budget so i'm not looking for any crazy custom fab job just a simple install or a way to get my shock rebuilt and ready for the trails. I was looking at the eibach springs which come in a few different rates which is why i thought it may work swapping things around...
