Were heading to Silver lake next weekend (9th) and of course we need to do the spark arrestor thing for fear of destoying all that sand:eek: . I've got two options the way I see it, buy a clamp on sparky for my coffman's silencer and use it at the dunes when I go, or spend a few more bucks and pick up a turbine core silencer with built in spark arrestor and leave it on all the time.

Has anyone used the clamp on sparkys??

Has anyone used the tubine core ?? How do you like it ??? Sound level ??? Performance??

It's on a 85 250R with a old school sectional pipe that compares to a PT hi rev for power delivery if that makes a difference.

Ross..

Any one else going to Silver Lake that weekend???

The Clamp on Sparkys Suck!!!! They do the Job they are supposed to do and will get you past an Inspection point...However,,,,They Stick out WAY PAST your Grab Bar....Go a little too Far Back on a Wheelie and it is TOAST!!! I Say Spend the Extra Money on a Pipe with Sparky Built in....:beer

I think I will go for the FMF turbine core with built in spark arrestor, It's only 30.00 more than the clamp on and I won't loose it .
A couple pics of the pipe and a not so good one of the silencer.
Not sure on the pipe, but it works as well as a hi rev or better and has a deeper sound. The Coffman's silencer has thier name on it and is repackable, apparently he was big into trikes in the day but his attention has mooved onto PWC pipes and exhaust. I was going to E mail them to see if they still had jigs for the ATC's or at least some old pics to identify a Coffman pipe. I'll post a better pic of the silencer tomorrow
