Go to www.floridaatvrally.com and sign the guestbook with your comments. I also went to www.atvflorida.com and posted a thread in the "Florida ATV Rally" board stating my disappointment. I directed them to this board so maybe they will see that I am not alone.

I believe L-cross does not allow them, anytime. NOT that I agree, just their policy. BS for sure!!! I will not be attending as all I have is 250r's.

It is L-cross policy, but why have it there if you're not including everyone?

Come to trikefest instead, same weekend :)
mark38090
05-30-2007, 10:18 AM
We would love to go to Trikefest, but 15 hours driving at $3.00+ per gallon pulling 4 trikes I just can't do. I'm a state employee :) .This ATV rally is 4 or so hours away, so it's a little more feasible.
THEY had a last minute cancelation of where they were going to have the rally at, and the L-cross stepped up to host it, it sucks but what can you do?? even though were not aloowed there hopefully it will still be a sucsess and we will have better riding from now on in florida

Man they just know how to ruin somebodies weekend don't they!
Yea let's hope better riding comes about, that and more places that will allow 3 wheelers haha

I got an email from them asking to attend. How they got my email address is beyond me. Hopefully their 'movement' will open up more places to ride. Probally forbidding trikes though. :(
hey if L-cross will let us does anyone want to carpool down there or along the way? jason?mike? gabe?

I would go as there is no way I can make TF.

Yeah, TF looks dim for me too so a ride anywhere closer is cool...depending upon the day of course.

I just signed the ATV RAlly guestbook and voiced my opinion of their no-3 wheeler policy. It was short and sweet: No 3-wheelers?
I think it's pretty sad that 3-wheelers are not allowed in the rally. Like it or not, they just aren't going away. There are still thousands of them out there and your segregation is pathetic.

I was hoping to try and make the rally. But no way I will even consider going if trikes are not allowed.

I like how the site states they want to unite all atv enthusiasts to get theyre cause noticed...guess we dont count.
#1. NO ALCOHOL from 9am till 8pm the day of the event! PLEASE RESPECT THIS RULE!
#2. If you are under the age of 16, YOU MUST WEAR a HELMET anytime you are on a ATV.
#3. If you are over 16 and are riding at idle speed around the facility or in the MUD PIT you will NOT require a helmet.
#4. If you go on any of the trail rides, whether fast or slow, YOU MUST WEAR a HELMET!
#5. If you participate in ANY of the scheduled RACE STYLE events YOU MUST WEAR a HELMET! even in the MUD event!!
#6. Side by Side vehicles will NOT require HELMETS!
#7. No 3-Wheelers Allowed.
#8. No firearms
#9. No Pets
Look were above firearms and pets...finished 3rd behind booze and no helmets...when they wrote up the rules they thought about 3wheelers before guns...thats awesome and sad at the same time.

Perhaps the reason they dont want 3 wheelers is because we will cause so many wrecks due to envious people staring and drooling over our machines.
(Quad guy walks up to trike guy)-"Thats awesome! Can I touch it?"
Trike guy-"No! Get away!"
(Quad guy turns to other quad guy)-"Dude, I swear I just saw a glowing beam of light!"

#3. If you are over 16 and are riding at idle speed around the facility or in the MUD PIT you will NOT require a helmet.
...And the first time "Delbert" falls off and smacks his cranium in the MUD PIT.....No more 4 wheelers?? Yeah...right.
If you get hurt while riding a 3 wheeler...it surely MUST have been the 3 wheeler's fault....definitely NOT the operators fault.
Kinda like a loaded handgun, sitting on the kitchen table. If NOBODY touches it...does it KILL anyone?? NOPE. Only the person OPERATING it does.
Maico
05-31-2007, 01:08 PM
....but if a "Numb Nuts" gets hurt on a 4 wheeler...insurance will cover it?? Sooo...it's the number of wheels that gets insured, not the operator??

I like how they say it's L-cross rules, but if you read the Rally rules #7
#7. No 3-Wheelers Allowed.
But it's not their rule...:(

Boycott this club/rally. If they don't want to fight for TRUE ATV rights, then why should we patronize their event ?? They knew full well going into planning for the event that there would be 3 wheelers wanting to attend. Yet they planned anyway KNOWING FULL WELL that 3 wheelers wouldn't be allowed.
That's fighting for ALL atv rights.

I am a member of the Floride ATV web forum that is part of this. So I recieved an email a while back. I had planned on posting it to let every one know about it. Any way, here is waht is states:
This is a reminder if you already know and a favor if you don't! I am organizing a state wide all terrain vehicle rally to open up more legal places for us to ride. With that being said would you please help spread the word to anyone you know with an all terrain vehicle, dirt bike or rhino type vehicles to ensure that we get the word spread all over the state.
Here is a link to our website http://www.floridaatvrally.com/ that you may spread via email to anyone you wish. This website is full of all the info needed to fully understand what we are trying to do.
Let me thank you in advance for your time and I do hope you will help us before it is to late.
Shawn
. can you at least respond with a YES or NO if you have or have not heard about the RALLY before this message.
This is what I responed with:
Several of my friends as well as my family had planned on attending this rally. We have been serious ATV and off road enthusiasts for years. Here is the problem though. The majority of us ride and restores three wheelers. Once we found out we are not welcome, well we obviously canceled our plans to attend. Everything about the rally I have read so far promotes unity among riders, yet it is us that is singled out and told we are not welcome. And all because we prefer trikes. I am angry as well as disappointed.
And this was their response:
I am sorry about the rule but it is not up to us. The facilities insurance will not cover trikes and that is the only reason why you are not allowed. our association is for all riders and we are gonna try to get you covered at the next one.

Yup, thats the email I got as well.
Hey at lest they tried...
tried?? when?? they new the rules there already they didnt try ***EDITED*** oh they still want us to come though! why? if we cant enjoy the machines there why would be come? were off roaders to! oh but since wher one wheel out, we cant enjoy wha the "other off roaders enjoy?! I dont think I will even attend the next rally even if they move to a place that allows "us"

Why dont all you guys that live close to this go and have your own rally or something promoting 3 wheelers? If enough of you show up at once, theyd be less likely to turn you away.

I know you guys are frustrated, but really I don't know how much there is the rally people can do. It is L-cross's call, not theirs. I don't think the rally people really had any idea three-wheeler riders would be interested in coming or they would have probably tried to work something out.
Really, we have been extremely lucky to have raced at the places we have (Thunderbowl, Jasper, Eastbay). I would be willing to bet money that all 3 of those places have exclusions on their insurance against us. The owners of those facilities are taking a serious, serious chance of having their policy revoked or even worse having an injury or accident occur that is not covered. Honestly if I was in the position, and it was anybody but people I had personally rode and raced with on more then one occasion, I wouldn't do it either. My .02
ok now im PISSED! at least on the rally thread on atv florida people could see "our" delema, but now the DELETED THE THREAD! I was calmed down, but they deleted our problem with the rally, so now we are officially unheard in FL. Im pissed and the next time they hold a rally and they say trikes are alowed im not going.

has anyone on here even been to L-cross? well i have many times and let me tell you it is not that big and the riding isnt that good unless mud is for you. i usually leave my 350x at home and take the 400ex there just to watch the drunk people get rowdy and hang out with friends. they are open every third weekend of the month and once in awhile they have an adult only weekend with some pretty good entertainment if u know what i mean! some of the guys take their flat bed trailers and convert them to dance stages for the ladies, yah it gets pretty wild.
anyways i have a weekend place 8 miles west of L-cross which is right on Lake Okeechobee. right by the house is the best riding place I have ever been to. Lake okeechobee is dry right now so everyone in my area rides their atv's right on the lake-bed. its nothing but wide open fields as far as you can see! i go there every weekend and it is an awesome place. the lake is down so much bc south florida has been in a severe drought for months. they say it is going to be at least a year until the lake comes up. anyone thinking about going to L-Cross needs to think twice and check out Lake Port.
oldsking86
06-11-2007, 11:06 PM
Hey you mean all of lack okeechobee is down? Where exactly are you guys riding at?
dlgorie@yahoo.c
06-11-2007, 11:27 PM
not all of okeechobee is down but in places that are usually 4-6 feet it is bone dry. if you can imagine the lake dry, well that is where we ride. i have a house in lakeport which is 7-8 miles west of L-Cross right off of hwy 78. i usually go riding there everyother weekend. the lake is dry bc of the drought and also they drained it for lock repair. and there is an 11million dollar project that the army corps of engineers is doing right now to dig out all the muck from the lake bed but that is another story. we usually ride right from the house down a trail that used to be a canal for airboats and follow that to the lake
LonesomeTriZ
06-12-2007, 08:40 AM
I have not been down that way in a few years. That sounds like it would be worth another trip. I agree, L-Cross is nothing more than a bif mud hole full of drunk and ignorent rednecks. I'm not saying that because I am angry, that is how it really is.
why the hell are not letting you guys register? becouse you have trikes? its been along time since I registerd on there and cant remember the deal

06-12-2007, 05:46 PM
thats a long drive from georgia lonesomeZ but yes this place is great. L-Cross is fun for the 4x4's and swamp buggies bc there is more mud than anything else and plenty of brewskies to go around. there is a place that is well worth the trip if you are not from florida though.....twice a year there is a "mudfest" held in okeechobee right off hwy 70 and that place is just crazy. its huge and there is the black stuff for the mudders and open areas for the racers. the best bang for the buck is definitely the lake though and it puts everyplace i have ever ridden out of the game. id like to take a trip to the dunes sometime though

I am glad to see so many riders willing to step up and fight for our right to ride. I served several years in the military so that I can do my part to help preserve the freedoms that we all enjoy. So believe me when I say I understand the need to stand together.
However, with that being said; all of us are not able to stand together. There is a large part of the off road community that still prefers trikes. When I found out about this rally I not only planned to attend, but I also wanted to do what ever I could to help. I do not see how we can stand together if one group I neglected just because we prefer older machines. I know, I know, L-Cross does not allow three wheelers. That is all the more reason to stand up and fight, but some where else. Unless you all want Quads and other off road vehicles to share the fate of the trikes, I suggest we all make this stand some where else. It may be too late for this rally, but we must all face the same direction and join together soon.

What's sad is that we all can pretty much beat all the quads they have going there haha It's pretty sad to see people still trying to stop us from riding our trikes 20 some odd years later!
People still think they look good too, I get comments on how sweet my bike looks all the freaking time, so why can't I ride it?!
thanks man! glad you could finaly get in there.

thanx howdy! alot of people are getting pissed over the rules there, but rules are in fact rules.. L-cross may have not been the best spot but at the time they steped up and saved the rally, I still will never gbe happy with the "no trikes" rule but hopefully they will have something in tallahassee happen!

it is funny how they welcome what I have to say now.
