Okay I got her started, haha the throttle cable sticks so of course it went straight up and fell on me  hank lord for helmets and my extra layers from work! Second time, I straight up flew on it, first gear hit around 60mph *going on pavement against my friends king quad*, jesus... im afraid of the other gears  :w00t:
Okay so heres what I would need/like.
1_ Thumb throttle- any ideas?
2_ New carburetor carb/clean old one.
3_New throttle cable
4_Get rear brakes working
5_New rear fenders
6_New headlight (glass part)
7_New tail-light
8_New grab bar.
My kicker doesnt rest in with the indent and the gas tank has small ding in a corner. Nothing big really but I would like some input on what ya all think. Pics will come =)
Actually I meant i would like a thumb throttle... dont like twist, haha yea i learned quickly, the cable looks rusty to me and it will stick the twist throttle in place.

about the throttle, motion pro can probably make you a cable with thumb throttle. I got a twist throttle off of them and a cable for my 86. My stock cable was destroyed and stuck open. It was exposed to water and dirt too which was kind of scarry.

How much do you think it would cost? And yeah i was astonished to see he hit 60mph on his speedometer while i was keeping up with him just fine. Do you have any ideas on the kicker?

Theres no way a 200x will go 60 in first gear. Mine barely does 10 mph. Maybe in 6th but not 1st, even a newer 450 wont do 60 in even 2nd and probably not 3rd? But the twist throttle will be around 30. But the cable would be cheaper if you just wanted that. My kick starter dosent stay in either. It always flys out. But i put a screw in it so once you push it in it stays in. New ones are expensive, but you can rebuild yours also, ask erectordale on here. He can rebuild kick starters

your kicker has a small dot on it and so does the kicker shaft. Take your kicker off - line up the dots when putting it back on. As far as the 60MPH in 1st comment - Uh - what happened when you woke up from your daydream?

yea like the other guys said, 60mph in 1st gear, most average cars dont even do that, if it did 60mph in 1st gear then it should do about 200mph in 6th gear right? is your speedometer off? you can get the rear fenders from www.maier.com, www.denniskirk.com might have something, prm makes grab bars http://prm-atv.com/MN.asp?pg=products&grp=34&mfr=2, and you can get stuff off of www.ebay.com. keep us updated and pics.

I was wondering when people were going to catch that 60mph comment.........
Did you just get it? How much did it set you back?

Motion Pro should send you a complete kit if you order a twist from them, that includes a throttle and cable. That's the cheapest way to go for you, I got one for my Big Bear for about 50 bucks all told.

as for your kicker... glue a strong magnet to the inside of your fender and it will keep your kicker in... or just tuck a magnet behind the rubber piece like i did.. that way it isn't permanent..

Neodymium magnets out of hard drives sound perfect for this!

I think he meant that first gear took off quick and he hit 60mph top speed.
Stop being jealous that he's got an 86 200X, EVERYBODY WANTS ONE!! LOL......
I've got 2 :w00t:

Most likely thats what he meant. Im more jealous of the 250rs right about now. Every little rock i hit it rattles my trike silly. Bearings are shot too and im stuck with a $200 bearing carrier thats shot. If i had the cash I would get a new 450, but I would still keep my trike anyway.

Sorry, yeah that was going in 5th or 6th, it was scary *especially with no back brakes*.
My kicker wont even go in that close, it looks bent to me, in those pictures thats as fas as it will get. =\
I hate twist throttles, thats why I dont do dirtbikes... is a thumb throttle possible?

Ive been riding without brakes for about ever now. But yes im pretty sure you can get thumb throttles from motion pro.

Cool, Oh and I picked it up for 300.00 plus 50.00 in gas, lol. The guy didnt know why so many people were calling about it, and i said I could get it the fastest... I won the race =)

Thats a good deal for a running X. I picked mine up for 200. It looked about the shape as it was now, but there were a few problems and the OEM plastic got cracked fast, seat cover was wasted, tank was rusted and some other things. but the worse was the electical. Horribly rigged together. So i just took of the light and put a PBNO killswitch on it. I would have paid 300 for it just to use the good parts to build one great 200x.

Yep, i have some white maiers on mine, my stock ones cracked due to the grab bar breaking and sending the plastic into the ground. Maiers are alot more durable and will just bend if that ever happens again, which it did and they did no break or leave any stress marks.

Fabricating your own would probably be the strongest, the aftermarkey aluminum ones are nice but can bend very easy. My friend just recently broke his grab bar on his 1984 200x. Use some square tubing and it should never really break, Only think that might break would be the bolts if there not strong enough.

Well until I can pay that much for new fenders, I ziptied and shaved back the old ones... now for a painting =)
