I found a neat little trick for loosening and tightening the inner clutch hub nut(at least for 85-86 250R's).
Since I don't have the holding tool, and my chain is off, the tool was out, and so was holding the brake on.
I clamped a pair of Visegrips nice and tight on the sprocket, wrapped a rag around the handle, and let it rest on the frame.
I put the tranny in top gear, that way it had the least torque against the sprocket.
I figured I'd share it, in case someone runs into removing the inner clutch hub nut sometime. It worked pretty darn good for me!!

I have stuck a penny in between two gears to remove clutch hub nuts already (old skool trick) I now have the Motion Pro Holding tool.

Line up and stack 3 old metal clutch plates together and weld them. Then weld a 12" piece of 3/8 rod to the plates. Presto...holding tool.

I normally just put the bike in top gear and get someone to press the front and rear brakes.

Never thought of that one Maico.........hmm:beer I'll have to do that.
I didn't have access to an impact, and my chain was not on the bike, so this was what I came up with to hold it. It worked well enough to get the job done;)
