I know its not a quad with a killer motor but it sure looks like some serious fun for what it is. Fills a much needed market too. A 250F dirtbike motor swapped in that frame would be interesting.

I like how its a manual trans! finnaly they got back to the real trans. Everyone whines about there kids needing a auto clutch to learn on, hell I got put on a 250x right off a 200sx no prob with the clutch!

There is alot of talk that Honda and Suzuki are coming out with full on 250 racer type quads. Something along the lines of smaller siblings to the 450's. Sounds good to me, A small 250 with real suspension would be awesome.
Looks like this one is a bit tame by comparison. The Honda and zuki are supposedly using new atv derivatives of the 250 thumper mx bikes. Still, cool looking machine. They needed something to replace the old blaster and this will probably work nicely.

I agree. The 250F motor is mighty powerful enough. It could probably bring it up with the 450 status. I doubt they will though. the 250 series quads are more intermediates before moving on to the more adult sized quads(i.e. 450, Z400, 400ex, so on). Would you be allowed to race in a class with that quad?

yes most trakcs have a blaster class or something along that line for the blaster and 300ex's

I've also heard that Zuki are making a Quadracer R250, basically an "intermediate" race quad. I'd personally love that, it'd be fuel efficient, fast, light and so fun to ride!

Anyone have some vid of this new Raptor besides what Yamaha has posted on their site?
Went window browzing tonight with the g/f and she pointed out what looks like the lil 250 Raptor on the showroom floor. Going to have a look Tuesday.

Was the Rap 350 afterall.
Going to pick up one of these 250's next season for my g/f to ride. Then when she has outgrown it she'll buy her own big Raptor and I'll stick a liquid 250f motor in it and make it my trail machine.

I rode a 350 raptor and it was abosutly gutless. My freind is getting a 250 ill tel you how it is when i ride it. The blasters supposed to have more power (duh its 2 stroke) but the raptor apperntly handles better and im pretty sure it has reverse. Better shocks also from what yamaha dealer tells me but there "not made to be jumped".

I was looking at the raptor 250s online not too long ago they look like a fun little quad, I think i would ride one around here because the trails can be tough on a full size atv.

1st time i saw the raptor 250 i noticed the blaster rear shock mounting looked the same...the more i looked at it its only 42" wide just like the blaster...ill admit i looks better then the stock blasters but yes its just a 4 stroke blaster...raptor 350 uses the old warrior motor i belive everyone told me...so thats a warrior really, just updated and the raptor 700...well i feel its the banshees replacement, i know most wont agree with me but thats what i think.
i saw a raptor 250 at the dealer the other day and it does look like a fun small quad...im not all bout large bore bikes anymore, just the average joes bike to have fun with.

The Raptor 350 is indeed a replasticked Warrior, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if the new Raptor 250 is a replasticked Blaster. You gotta admit that the Blaster is a very good chassis for what it is, though. It's been around FOREVER.

So far all of the tests and reports on the new rappy 250 say its very good at everything. Haven't heard anything bad in fact. It is very close to the blaster in dimensions, which is a good thing for many people. But it's more than just new plastic. It is a completely different machine.

But the banshees still around. I think it sucks they make these damn bikes so narrow. Id say 46-47 inches wide woudlnt be too much to ask for. Then you woudlnt tip it so easily.

This motor is from an overseas bike called the Tricker. It is quicker and handles better then the Blaster. You wont have to rebuild this all the time either.
Cody2,
The new Raptor 350 is really a machine from 1988 with fancey new skin, It should be gutless. You shouldnt base the 250 on an old Warrior tech that should be replaced aswell.
My .02 looks awesome and Id rather have that then a Blaster any day, But then again I willrideanything.
I thought the tricker was liquid cooled? this motor obviously isnt

i have head some fuss that the shee could be rereleased as a 500cc 4 stroke.
it would be twin cylinder, and worked over to create awesome power. i mean,,,,yami's 660/700 motor is garbage when their new 450 motor makes more power........
