Well I found a another frame for my project t3. Had a real good time trying to remove the bollt for the uni trak link. Tried the hammer and punch even tried fence post drriver and an old warior axle, no go. The sleave was frozen to the bolt. So, got the grinder out and cut that sucker off. Now that it's off I can continue with the project but wow what a workout. Anyone else ever had to deal with this?

They are both 85's So it looks like I'm in luck. All though I have had thoughts of making a beater out of the other one. I guess I better take it one step at a time. Thanks though.

I don't think I've ever had any bolt come out of anything easy....lol.

I'm not surprised about a stuck bolt, what I'm amazed at is that you found/made room in there to somehow cut it off. Don't know how I'd go about cutting that bolt, I would have said it was impossible. Good work and keep us posted on your progress. Chris

Hadar, I notice on both your 85's you have removed the fork boots. Could you suggest where to buy the covers that go on top of the forks like you have? I want to remove my boots too, but the mud around here demands that you must have some sort of protection for the fork seals. Thanks

84 t3's have boots stock. 85 t3's have dust covers as far as I know.

I started it with the hack saw and it was going smooth untill I hit the sleeve. Then it was just like trying to cut a socket. That sleave is hardend. An angle grinder made it easy and sent that sob to the promised land. Chris, nothing is impossible with power tools and a 12 pack of coors.
