I bought the DG pipe and silencer for my tri-z and did some test fitting tonight. Needless to say, the fit was less than perfect. The silencer bracket doesn't line up with anything but that is an easy enough fix. But the pipe is a headache. First, I had to cut some material off the flange to get the gaskets to seat. Then it was hitting the bottom edge of the front fender. So I rotated it slightly and added some spacers between the pipe hanger and the pipe (where it bolts to the frame). Then, it seems to be hitting both tubes on the front of the frame. With a little tweaking it fixes it but with the silencer on, it seems to hit the inside of the rear fender. Has anyone else had as much trouble making these fit nicely? Or am I going crazy?:wondering

I did get the unfinished pipe and painted it hi-temp black as well as painting the silencer to match. Looks really sharp but I'm wondering about putting the stock pipe back on and tossing the dg pipe unless I get it squared away. For as much as I paid for the stupid thing it should fit alot better than it does...

Also considering lengthening the flange of the front of the pipe and making a spacer or something so the gaskets will fit and keep it from hitting the frame. Oh well, I'll figure it out later...

If you're using the oem thin gasket that goes in the very beginning of pipe along with the round flaired stainless insert, then you have to really force it all together so it bottoms all the way around cylinder exhaust spigot. That gives you the room to clear your fender. You need the oem hanger as well for the left top mounting point. I had to remove some of the squareness on the upper point of that mounting point on the pipe for clearance on hanger. As far as the silencer, all of my dg silencers for tri-z's had to be shortened just after pipe-silencer joint to allow proper mounting. It requires cutting off approx 1'' and then having it welded. Both my exhausts fit great now, but not before some tweaking. Assemble everything loose then adjust you pipe hanger.

I had the same problem. I just made a bracket to bridge the gap.

yeah, when I get a little time I'm gonna fab up some spacers and/or brackets to fit it how I want. The pipe hanger lines up great, just gotta tweak everything else into place

I thought I was the only one that had this problem! I also made a bracket for the silencer, rather than cut and weld.

I have had to bend the silencer tube away from the frame and plastic before..
