Tri-Z Shifter questions

Two questions.

1. How do I get it off? The small bolt is completely out and its loose...yet no matter how hard I pry it appart...it wont come off.

2. Will a YZ250 shifter fit?

Banshee shifter will work if ya tweak it a bit to clear the stator cover.. I think sblt500r still has a few blinged out ones left ready to go.

It should slide off. Try some penetrating oil if its rusted. It isn't welded on there is it?

It isnt welded on. But it just wont come off. Is there a trick to it?

Wiggle it,, try aflat head screw driver,, prying on either side (CAREFULLY!!!) Keep at it,, it'll come off!

just spread the ears a bit with a flat head.

yeah, like badasskfx said, try prying the ears a bit and if possible use a puller on it. Maybe a little safer than prying it off...

Use a small pry bar and hammer it between the ears. Spray it down with PB or comparable product, then tap it with your BFH until it pops loose.

a yz shifter is way too short.. try a banshee and bend it in a vice to clear everything..
