i would like to know which cam is higher performance for a 1984 200X. this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/83-85-ATC200X-Camshaft-Hi-Performance-Cam-ATC-200X_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43977QQihZ016QQite mZ260132184764QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V or an XR200 cam. i asked the guy for the specs for the cam on ebay and this was all he gave me:
"The specs come with the cam, I do remember the lift is .340" and it is not an XR cam it is its own design."
has anyone bought the cam thats on ebay and has the specs? does anyone know which cam is higher performance, the one on ebay or a XR200 cam? thanks.

that cam is a step above stock if that helps. If I ever find cams and need to know how hopped up they are I go to www.webcamshafts.com, look up the model and they have the lift right there.

Web cam has 2, both about 160$ and you need the valve spring kit too.

One is geared towards mid to topend power only and the other is a range from bottom to top. I bought the all around cam.

I'm building one of these as we speak. Plan on about 600$ for a complete built performance top end for a 200X.

The ebay cam is higher performance than an xr. I have both, and an 84 200x cam, and have measured all of them with a set of calipers. Now the XR and the X cam are used and worn but the cam ebay measured a bigger lobe than the others.
The specs do come with the cam...... I have misplaced them tho :wondering ....I can tell you it has less lift and duration than the smallest megacycle cam listed on their website. So it is between the performance of the XR/X cam and the smallest megacycle cam.
It has higher lift and duration than stock, it also has slightly different timing.
I ran that cam over the weekend in my 84 200X. You can feel the power come on about mid rpm band. You can feel a def improvement over stock. My brothers X is stock, mine has that cam and a Basani exhaust, and it pulled away from his everytime about 3rd gear.

I found the cam specs for that cam on ebay, if you or anyone else is interested... See attached pdf. It has the specs of the megacycle cams as well as the stock 83-85 and 86-87 200X cams for reference.

Where do you obtain a megacycle cam and is anyone convinced it is a better buy than a Webcam ??
