Who has done this, anyone have pictures of what it looks like, i want to do this but in not sure how tall it will make the front end. Also what is the overall length of the forks? I have a near mint set of 84 forks, just wondering if the x is shorter.

Yes, I have done it for fun. The 110 sits wayyyy too high in the front with them. It measures 37'' with no sag at the the top clamps.

That sucks, does anyone have one that sits normal? I have a set of mid 80's yz80 forks that fit in the 200x tripple trees i have and are quite a bit shorter than the 84 250r forks i have, but will need quite a bit to work, like the caliper mount and also they dont have the clamp like the 200x, r, x forks have that hold the axle to the fork, im sure i could do it but id rather keep it simple. So anyone have any suggestions? Id like to be able to run 200x or 250r tripples so i can have a better looking headlight and front fender.

You could just use shorter springs to lower it down some. But then the fender might hit the tire from being so low. So a smaller tire and rim would give you some decent suspension for a 110. But why not just use a big red front end with some suspension? Really though any fully suspended front end off a sport trike will be too big. The 200x sits alot higher than the 110, but the bigred would work out good I think.

Yes im sure that would work, and its probably the more practical thing to do, i just want to get rid of the ugly front tire and fender while having suspension. If need be, i could prob shorten the tubes and springs a bit to make it work, im still open to suggestions.

Yes its bigger now. So how did you lower it? Just take the middle spring out and less oil?

Ive been thinking the last couple days and come up with this. My friend is a machinist, i used to be one and i have access to his shop, how about i just lop a few inches off the top of the fork, shorten the spring a few and use a lathe to throw in some new threads. I dont see what that would hurt right? I dont think the tire will hit the fender either, what do you guys think?

bump, mocked this up tonight on my 1980 110 to an 85 200x front end, seen that it is not impossible. However it will need machine work to be right. Anyone have any pictures or can direct me to a more intense thread on the subject? I am searching as we speak, thanks!

I've thought the same Jeff, but I bet it will be HELL to cut internal threads into those upper tubes....
