View Full Version : Tips and tricks for breaking in new riding boots?

Besides just wearing them a lot, is there any tricks to breaking these things in? Someone once told me to soak them in water while you're wearing them, then wear them until they're dry (wouldn't take long out here in the desert). That sounded kinda... well retarded. Does that actually work and not harm the boot?

Take to blunt end of a knife handle ( a folder) and stretch the leather from the inside on possible hot spots. I use to do that with my jungle boots before a road march.

The Besy way to is the night before you go ride put them in the bath tub and let them soak put some dawn dish soap in there to and put them on when you get ready to ride and ride them all day the soap softens the leather even more. Thats what I do cause i go through aobut 3 to 4 sets a year. Thats what Honda factory ride Joe Byrd does

I never had any luck with that method. it always seems to make the books more stiff.

soak them in warm water then wear them around.

OMG, Just RIDE RIDE RIDE.... It Sux for awhile but when they break in they fit like a rubber.
Wearing them around the house doesn't do it, just put them in there real environment.
