Hi can any of the tecate guys tell me how much of the engine components are shared with the KX moto-x bike??? cylinder,crank,powervalve,cases,etc,etc??????

Practically the same motor. The 85 KX motor is the 86/87 T3 motor I do believe. Instead of swapping internals swap the whole motor, nobody will be able to tell aside from readying the engine numbers.

The '86 KX is the '86-7 KXT motor... The '85 KX has a slightly different cylinder... I dont know if its better or worse... The exhaust port is bridged and the sub-exhaust ports are smaller(different valves too)...the '85 cylinder will bolt right onto the other cases, but the 86/7 cylinder wont fit on the '85 case without minor clearancing for the powervalve shafts... also 4th and 5th gears in a KXT have a slightly different pitch, but retain the same ratios... The power gains between a '86 KX and '86/7 KXT were from the carb and ignition differences...
