newbie here need some info on my 1982 atc 250r

hey im new here and i am glad to be a part how powerful and good of a trike are they? mine has itp rims that need to be cleaned up and it needs a silencer and it runs good but the head gasket leaks:( and somebody replaced the main jet with a screw that has a hole drilled through the center of it and it has no air box or filter:( all the pluses from a neglectful owner...can anybody give me some info on it?

Welcome! For the rims, mothers aluminum polish is great, works even better if you have one of those round wheel buffers that go on the end of your drill from wal-mart. Head gasket is easy, and cheap to fix. Im sure someone here has a spare muff and air box for ya, try posting a wanted ad in the classified section. And the jet, i gotta say, ive never heard of anybody that hard up to do something as dumb as that, jets are only like 3 bucks, only problem you prob have is the screw that someone stuffed in there is prob not the right size and pitch threads, depending on how badly the threads are you may end up looking into buying a new, or new used carb.

glad you made it over here bud!! lots of info here for ya, like I said before you just need to get a stock carb for an 85-86 250r that will wake that motor up, there all over ebay realitvly cheap or on here if you post up a classified
