View Full Version : 250r new pipe, what to change?

I want to put an FMF fatty pipe and power core silencer on my 86 250r and was wondering what to change? What size jets should you run with this? Any other things to change?

Basically just trial and error. Start out fat and begin pulling fuel out of it. And jet it to what fuel/oil mix you feel safe with, and stick with it. Changing ratios, changes fuel requirements. No two bikes fuel needs are identical, so take the time to get it right. There are just to many variables to give you an exact jetting curve.

Dont listen to what liquid darkenss says. For jetting PLUG CHOP. If you dont know what that is do a search. Any questions ask me.
By doing what LD says your engine will be running lean and be a timebomb. Lean motors SCREAM but wont stay together.

FMF has a jetting chart for their pipes. If I remember right the 250r stays pretty close to stock jetting. Here is the link:
