View Full Version : Tri-Z with a cobra headpipe?

Going to look at a Z tomorrow and was wondering if Cobra made a headpipe for the Z? If they did was it an improvement or like the D(o)G just a stock replacement?

I think they did make one for the Z. But I have never seen one. I can say I have had other Cobra products and hated every single one of them. It all seemed to be made like pure crap.

I appreciate the info lonesome, going to have to put the OEM back on if it is that bad. You really need to hook me up with one of those 86 Z's:), I am having to drive all the way to atlanta to get this one and it took me a while to find it. I need a 86 to round out the pair.

The 86's I am partial to. But I will keep you in mind if I find another one.

Heck i am a begger not a chooser, I'll take an 85-85.5 whatever. Keep me in mind if you ever want to get rid of/ find any close to the Mississippi/Alabama/Georgia area. Shoot me a PM about the 125 in your sig if its still for sale.

Once again going to disagree on the last sentence. I really liked my Cobra. It made an excellent sound. Only thing I disliked was the headpipe burning the paint.

Like I said I have never had one on a Z. But I know most of thier other stuff is garbage. Maybe they got it right with the Z's.

they are EXCELLENT on the TRI-Z but JUNK on the ATC's .. i sure would like to Modify a PT High Rev to fit my RAG !! :naughty:

Well I got it and I have to say the fitment isnt the best but it does have a certain ping to it that I find very pleasing ot my ears. it actually rubs the right side of the frame where it turn back in on itself but I will see if I can fix that is I keep it. Leaks like the dickens on the ju to, may just be something that is supposed to be there that isnt there. I may try to post a pic of it tomorrow and see if ya'll can tell me whether it is actually a cobra.
