Well this year's ride was a absolute blast,Michigan,Ohio,Missouri,Indiana and Canada were all represented at this year's ride ,and everybody seemed to have had a great time.If you missed this year's ride ,mark your calendar for next year..And I guess the rain was invited ,because it was there also. The Poker -run was put off for 2 hour's because of the drizzle,But this being Michigan at 12:00 noon, we were all geared up with our sunglasses on.It turned out to be beautiful.Tapper was the Lucky guy to win the Poker-run and got some great prizes. And there were also about a dozen winner in the raffle .We had a few crashes ,myself included{ LOL},but we all made it back to the cabin alive. There was a confirmed count of 32 riders for the poker-run and I have no clue how many machine's left back at camp. The rain we did get was much appreciated for the fact of keeping the dust down.
The trails were absolutey a riot to ride and everybody was running the tire's off there machine's.Local gossip up in Rose City was about 3-Wheelers and everywhere that we ran across people there head's were turning. These are some of the pic's I have just around camp mostly, but I am sure the rest of the gang is gonna post up alot of pic's of the scenery and the trail's.Since I got this thread rolling I just wanted to say thanks too everyone for making it up there this year and for any and all the help that you guy's did.I appreciate it and can't wait till next year.I am sure everyone that was there can share a memorable moment.I have lot's more pic's also too follow.....

well just for the guys that were there, i rolled in about 7:30 am saturday and i DIDNT sleep in my truck. lol. I must not get out much because this was i think the funnest ride i've ever been on. Trikefest is great to hang out with other members, drag race and MX but as for general riding this place definately takes the cake in my book. I absolutely loved ripping through the woods pinned in 5th and 6th gear. There were some real tight trails and some wide open trails just to hail balls on. i know at least larry, rick, eric, my girlfriend and i loved flying through the tight twisting trails in the woods on the poker run hoping the guy in front didnt stop. (which DID happen quite a few times  ). I had no idea what to expect but it was awesome. One guy on a dirtbike who has rode there since he was 5 said he could have taken us all the way to the mackinaw (or mackinac?) bridge (which is about 130 miles away) just on the trail systems. I didnt bring a camera so i personally dont have any pics but i know there were alot taken by other members so hopefully they'll post them. There was a good picture of ED with a shopping cart too   I will definately be back next year but hopefully we will make it up way before next year rolls around. Thanks again roger and anyone else who had a part in it.:w00t: :beer

Well like i said, trikefest is awesome ass hell but im sure a LOT of TF attendees would say that haspin acres is a "good" place to ride and now an awesome place lol. If they had an MX and drag track up in rose city it'd be over

As soon as Shannon gets Home from the Doctors, I'll get her to post some more pictures ,(not sure how to log on to her computer).
And I have to say Thanks guys for helping out my wife after she wrecked, everyone was very concerned about her and that says a lot about the people that attended. My brother who tagged along also commented on the great time he had, meeting and talking with everyone.
We had a fabulous time this weekend, Met a bunch of great people and did some killer trail riding. Rode some small loops on Fri afternoon to get a feel for the area before the poker run on Sat and then went out fri after dinnner for a good fast fireroad rip with gplarry, joe, tecat-z, T-3 Lopez, my brother, tapper and a couple others, had a blast drifting corners in 6th, running sand roads, and playing in a few sand hills.
Saturday's Poker run was a good , long, ride at your own pace kind of event that unfortunatly had my wife trying to move a tree with her Banshee (the tree won). She banged her knee up pretty good and ended her riding for the weekend. After dinner a large group led by the local bike kid took off for a long fast ride to a nearby lake and back followed by some smaller groups heading out to explore the trails near dusk.
Sunday My brother and I got out with ATC Eric and his brother Jason for a good hard fast ride of the poker run trail, we tore it up,that was a good ride with Eric on my grab bar the whole way.
A good ride to end a great weekend.

Thanks Sandpuppi

Hope everyone made it home safe .

hey all... shannon here! RoscoW's wife

so after 4 hours in urgent care tonight, here is the scoop. I type this entry with my left hand in a cast waiting to hear back from the plastic surgery division about my BROKEN hand... yes a cracked bone in the side of my hand... AND ... wait for it...

the orthopedic surgery team will call by wed to book a time to deal with the shattered bone in my knee WTF??!?!

I was stunned and quite honestly a little bit shocked. Ross didn't take the news terribly well and is feeling very guilty about not slowing me down.. I was having so much fun, I'm not really sure it would have made much difference,,,

so Seadoo?.. thanks for the great advice... "just walk it off"... and to everyone there, thanks for a great weekend and a great story, the emerge team were most entertained.

Man is my boss going to be pissed!:(

cheers

Well Jason and I made it home safe. 10 hour drive this time instead of 16

THANK YOU ROGER!!!!!

Words cant even begin to explain how great everyone was, and the times that were had. The trails were AMAZING!!!!!!!! and the scenery was even better.

Kevin, I agree with you. Ed (I think) and I were talking about how TF is more of a social gathering, where this was just great riding. It was great riding with you and Cori. She is an amazing rider, I need to find me a girl like that. :naughty:

Shannon, thats really tuff to read. Fractored knee? That really sucks. Your such a sweetheart, hard to watch you in pain. I hope your boss understands. On a side note, I know you have a lot of my pics downloaded. I have around 60 that Ive decided to upload, we'll have to watch eachothers posts to avoid a double post. And GOOD GOD!!!!! Ross, your one HELLUVA RIDER!!!!!!!! I was so sore from the day before, it took ALL I had to keep up with you on the Z through the trails. Bad part was the thing was as wide as a lot of the trails we went down. Bunch of tight spots.

It was REALLY great to see and meet all of you again. I just wish I could have spent a week there instead of 3 days!

Im gonna start with a couple pics here, and bring the rest tomorrow.

Here we go from the beginning of the weekend:

Oh and Kevin, you got it alllll wrong, THIS is the pic of John after he sent a dozen people the wrong way  .....

Looks like you guys had a great time. we'll be sure to make this ride next year!!! Michigan has some kick ass trails. Glad you guys from other places could get a chance to tear around on them. We were In northern Michigan this weekend also at a friend cabin near Claire. We were right behind the Tornado's friday night, that was some scary stuff, we were on the road listening to all the weather warning's wondering If we should continue on our journey. I was really starting to wonder about the weather Saterday morning. Wow there was alot of rain. But then the BLUE sky popped through. Luckily Northern MI has lots of sand. Glad to hear you guys had fun. Sad to see we missed such an awesome ride Roger, I won't miss the next one.

Hey all, I had a blast this weekend!!! Thanks again Roger and John for the poker run prizes. Thanks to the guy who owns the cabin (never did meet him?) The old X will have to rest the whole year after riding with you guys  I have never rode like that in my life! Hey Larry, next time you share your gas, make sure you leave enough to get back to camp  Just wanted to do a poll, who all see the cemetery? Glad to see that everyone made it home safe.
Sorry to hear about your hand and leg Shannon! That was one nasty spill you had.
I should have stayed longer on Sunday. After I unloaded, my brother-in-law called and all his help bailed, so I helped shingled his roof untill 8:30 at night!

Well, for me, it will be safe to say that this will be an annual pilgrimage to Rose City, Mi for the Sandpuppy ride. This ranks right at the top for me as far as the riding landscape, diverse conditions, and the really great people i had an opportunity to have a few cold ones with around the campfire, and tear it up on the fireroads during the day. Riding with skilled 3wheeler riders is so much fun, that for me, little else compares. A line of trikes 8-10 long is a site to behold. And at times, we were 5th 6th gear pinned for great distances, and everyone kept safe distances and used hand signals to keep the rider in back informed of upcoming obstacles. I want to thank Roger for putting this ride together, and for the lunch he served us as well. Everyone that i met was great, and i have many great memories from this. I hope Shannon gets well soon, and makes it back for next year. She is a REAL trooper. And Roger, if theres anything i can do to help out next year with the ride, just holler. It was a pleasure.:) Ed

Hey guys...

The hand is casted now and hopefully surgery will not be needed. the Knee is another story... I have what is called a Tibular Plateau the top of the Tibea is V shaped bone and the centre of th V is broken, so there are little bits of bone in there that shouldn't be. they are affecting the ACL . I am waiting for an MRI appt to determine th extent of the surgery. Looks like skiing is out for this year... BOO!

All things considered I'm still smiling... life's too short to get pissy about these things.

Cheers
Shannon

The boss took it quite well, I had already stared to make arrangements to work from home, so I'd covered that part. She had a broken ankle a couple of years ago so is aware that things just happen. The hand cast sure puts a cramp on my 75 wpm typing though LOL!

Hey guys thanks for being so great and making the weekend so much fun. We'll both see you all at Trike fest for sure even if I don't ride quite as much as Ross...

Hey all. I just wanted to FINALLY get on here and post up about the ride. Two words Freakin' awsome. Well worth the five and a half hour drive. Hands down the best trails I've ridden. It was great to meet some new fellow trikers and catch up with some I knew. I hope some of you can make it to Smith Road on Labor day and race.

Shannon. Sorry to hear about the injuries. Guess you can't just walk it off huh.

Roger, Thanks for all your hospitality. I plan on making this an annual ride. Hopefully I can talk some other O.T.C. guys into making it next year.

Thanks Glenn and Larry for keeping an eye on me. This was the Blue r's first long trail ride and I was'nt shure if she would make it through but she help up like a champ.

I'll se if I have any pics not similar to others posted and get them up.

Well I am glad I finally showed up in time to do the poker run with everyone. I had a great time even though the 350 wasn't runnin right, but I figured out the carb problem, so we are good now. On a brighter note I got my 200x runnin like a champ. I even spanked (about 4 bike lengths) a 250x in a 1/8 of a mile at my new property. I can't wait till next year hopefully I will have the big X running like a champ by then. If anyone ever wants to ride Kalkaska north loop just let me know, there is some great technical riding there. :w00t:

That ride was a blast! I had a great time and it was really nice to meet more people from the board. GLad to hear your in high spirits Shannon, hope the pain isnt too severe! Your a real trooper for riding that bike on only your 4th time out!

everyone that missed this ride NEEDS to come next year!!! Seriously, it was a mini trike fest and I had a blast. That night ride on the first night in the rain with Roger was intense, I was glad to see you get back up after you ran into eric!

the riding was fun, the scenery was beautiful, and the nights were a blast. If you missed this ride than you obviously dont like to have fun! JK for next year if your close enough to make the drive and have the chance than I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! :)

Hey guys... Shannon Here!

Just wanted to give you an update. I had the consult on my knee and it turns out I've been a great patient, I've healed much better than they expected and I do not have to go under the knife :w00t:

I started my physio today and am at 50% weight bearing on my knee with the expectation of loosing the crutches completely within the next couple of weeks (my physio's words...)

My strength and stability are there and the break is such that it will not affect any of the soft tissue, so the surgeon said... "if it were my knee...? I wouldn't do surgery!" Good enough for me!

just thought I'd let you all know... see you on the trails in the spring :Bounce :Bounce :Bounce
