Hello,
Because I have a small crack in my clutchcover I decided to have it welded.
Does anyone have a tip how to loose the little nut which holds the waterpump impeller ?
I can't get it off, and don't want to break anything on the waterpump.
I also want to place a new seal in the waterpump.
Thanks,
John

If the case is still on the engine then the waterpump gear is driven by the crankshaft. Just put it in gear and bump the ratchet with your hand.
I used an impact wrench, if you have one, it's the only way to go. You should break anything, the engine might turn a bit, it's okay.

Hi,
Thanks for helping, but it doesn't want to come off. Although the sprocket on the inner side doesn't move, I can turn the nut, but it seems like the small axle moves together with the nut.

Hi,
With my KX250 dirtbike I also had a crack in the clutchcover, and I had it welded without a problem. I don't know how they call it in English, something like 'cold welding'.
Regards,
John
